PPR Is Preparing John Galliano’s Triumphal Comeback

PPR Is Preparing John Galliano’s Triumphal Comeback
LVMH’s hasty attempt to disown John Galliano can finally give the French luxury-holding most unpleasant consequences. There are rumors that PPR, a direct competitor to LVMH, is preparing the designer’s triumphal comeback to the world of fashion.
According to the reports which have appeared for some reason not in the French but in the Italian media, PPR is preparing a large-scale haute couture project with John Galliano, who has to become the holding’s “start” in the prestigious area of high fashion. Today, none of the brands owned by PPR (and this list includes such well-known representatives of the international podium as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney, Balenciaga), does not participate in Fashion Week in Paris.
Of course, there are still no details about the project, which should mark Galliano’s comeback and PPR’s promotion to the highest level of fashion-industry. These are only rumors, not confirmed by anyone yet. Meanwhile, LVMH is trying to cut off the effects of John’s dismissal by returning to the traditional Christian Dior aesthetics (the latest Dior haute couture spring-summer 2012 collection is a clear proof of that) and strengthening its positive image of a “caring” employer as in the case with Celine.
